Introduction
Welcome to the SISTec- Centre of Excellence in Semiconductor Technology, it's a launchpad for the semiconductor experts of tomorrow. What makes this CoE truly stand out is its rich integration of industry-standard EDA platforms, primarily from Synopsys and Cadence, tools that shape the designs powering the world's most advanced Electronics today.
C2S Program
Chips to Startup (C2S) program plays nationally. This program, driven by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has become the backbone of India's VLSI talent supply. With over 43,000 students enrolled and nearly 60,000 professionals trained as of mid-2025, the initiative is far outpacing its initial goals, fostering a booming community of skilled designers across more than 270 academic institutions. Through C2S, students gain access to world-class Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools delivered via centralized licensing, enabling them to learn chip design, verification, packaging, and system simulation firsthand. This exposure bridges the gap between classroom theory and practical industry requirements, fueling India's semiconductor mission with a solid pipeline of capable engineers. The end goal is ambitious but clear: develop over 85,000 VLSI-trained professionals by 2030, ready to drive India's semiconductor ecosystem forward.
EDA Tools Available at CoE in Semiconductor Technology
SISTec's Centre of Excellence, with its comprehensive access to Synopsys and Cadence platforms, positions students at the fore front of India's semiconductor revolution. As the country transitions from producing its first chips to establishing multiple operational fabs, graduates trained on these industry-standard tools will play crucial roles in sustaining India's technological self-reliance and global competitiveness in the semiconductor sector. The combination of world-class EDA tools, practical project exposure, and India's operational manufacturing ecosystem creates an unprecedented learning environment for the next generation of semiconductor professionals.

Programs Offered
-
Analog IC Design
The CoE provides hands-on experience in circuit design, simulation, layout, and verification using industry-standard software. The training typically covers key aspects such as schematic creation, DC/AC simulations, layout editing, design rule checks (DRC), layout versus schematic (LVS) verification, and post-layout parasitic extraction. It equips learners with practical skills to design and validate complex analog and mixed-signal circuits efficiently.
-
Digital IC Design
Digital IC design training on Cadence tools covers the full design flow from RTL coding and functional simulation using Verilog, to synthesis, place and route, and timing verification. It includes hands-on experience with digital implementation tools like Encounter for physical design and Incisive for simulation and verification. This training equips learners to design, simulate, verify, and implement high-quality digital integrated circuits efficiently.
