Sustainable Practices and Strategies in Electronics Engineering for a Sustainable World

In order to provide students with a global perspective and familiarize them with current trends in Engineering and technology, the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at Sagar Group of Institutions - SISTec Ratibad recently organized an International Expert session on the topic of "Sustainable Practices and Strategies in Electronics Engineering for a Sustainable World." This event was held under the auspices of the IETE Student's Forum and Industry-Institute Partnership Cell.
The distinguished Expert Speaker for this session was Dr. Suresh Kumar Vishwakarma, a highly accomplished individual with an impressive array of qualifications and experience. Dr. Vishwakarma, who holds the titles of P.Eng., C.Eng., MIET, MBA, Ph.D., Postdoc, and Senior Engineer at BC Hydro in Vancouver, Canada, introduced himself to the students and shared his personal journey, highlighting his achievements and research work. He also encouraged the students to engage in research and publication activities, emphasizing their importance in the field.
During the session, Dr. Vishwakarma delved into the significance of sustainability for Electronics and Electrical Engineers. He explored the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and their relevance to the engineering profession. As the session progressed, the speaker elucidated the concept of Green Technology and outlined key principles for designing environmentally sustainable electronics. He also touched upon the topics of Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency, providing valuable insights for students to consider when embarking on their own projects.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and engaging with the speaker throughout. The knowledge and insights shared during this event will not only benefit the students themselves but also have a positive impact on society as a whole.
