Saur Urja Diwas Celebration 2024

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Sagar Group of Institutions - SISTec Ratibad celebrated "Saur Urja Diwas" under the banner of SESI (Solar Energy Society of India) on June 21, 2024, promoting solar energy on the longest day of the year.
We were honored by distinguished guests: 
- Guest of Honour: Dr. Syed Ali, Director General, SESI 
- Chief Guest: Mr. Prafull Pathak, President, SESI 
- Keynote Speaker: Prof. (Dr.) B.K. Panigrahi, IIT Delhi
The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and a welcome address by Principal Dr. Manish Billore, emphasizing the importance of solar energy. Dr. Ashish Kumar Singhal, Faculty Advisor of the SESI Chapter, presented an overview of SESI and the chapter's activities.
Highlights included:
- A motivational talk by Dr. Syed Ali on the future of solar energy and sustainable development.
- Insights on microgrid systems using AI from Prof. (Dr.) B.K. Panigrahi.
- A student poster presentation judged by Mr. Neeraj Dave, retired GM of BHEL, with Ankit Satnami winning first prize.
- Innovative startup ideas on solar energy presented by students, judged by Dr. Abhishek Choubey, IQAC Head at SISTec Ratibad.
Special thanks to Dr. Ashish Kumar Singhal for coordinating the event and Bhoomika Singh for seamless execution. With hybrid participation from nearly 50 students nationwide, the event was a resounding success, showcasing the potential and importance of solar energy for sustainable development.
