National Space Day 2024

Sagar Group of Institutions - SISTec Ratibad in collaboration with the ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation and Space Applications Centre - ISRO, Ahmedabad successfully hosted to celebrate National Space Day - "Touching Lives While Touching The Moon: India's Space Saga." The event celebrated India's remarkable achievements in space exploration. It provided a platform for inspiring the next generation of students, engineers, and scientists of SISTec, Sagar Public School, and Sagar Vidya Niketan.
Eminent scientists from ISRO and SAC, Ms. Anuja Sharma, Senior Scientist at Space Applications Centre, ISRO, Ahmedabad, Dr. Madhavi Thakre, Scientist at ISRO (Optical Designer, Sensors & Nanotechnology), and Mr. Mayank Bhardwaj, Scientist/Engineer at ISRO, were the esteemed guests for the celebrations and were welcomed by Dr. Manish Billore, Principal SISTec Ratibad, Dr. Jaishree Kanwar, Director Sagar Public School, Ms. Rashmi Seth Vice Principal Sagar Public School, Ratibad and Ms. S. Bindu Principal Sagar Vidya Niketan.
Addressing the gathering of students Anuja Sharma shared the rich history of ISRO & SAC and provided insights into the evolution of India's space program and the critical role of remote sensing. She also shared the ISRO's/SAC's contributions to the Chandrayaan-3 mission and the broader impact of space exploration on society. 
Dr. Madhavi Thakre inspired the gathering by sharing the journey of the Chandrayaan 3 Mission by featuring real videos, pictures, documentaries, and animations that vividly depicted the mission's achievements and the challenges overcome by ISRO's dedicated team of scientists. She highlighted Why the Moon is important for scientists for future space exploration.
Dr. Manish Billore, Principal SISTec Ratibad also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of space science education in driving innovation and national progress. He encouraged the students to pursue careers in space science, highlighting the exciting opportunities available as future ISRO scientists.
The event also witnessed a series of engaging competitions which included essay writing, poem writing, painting, and a Chandrayaan model-making activity. Students enthusiastically participated by showcasing their creativity and deep interest in space science and celebrated India’s achievement of landing on the Moon. Aliza Khan, Saloni Shrivastava, and Rashi Maran bagged the first prize in the Essay, Poem, and Painting Competition whereas Shikha Vishwakarma, Ansh Dangi, Dhapi Maran, Tamana Maran, Sakshi Sen and Mahi of SVN and SPS bagged the second and third prize respectively.
