Sagar Group of Institutions-SIPTec successfully organized the #DBT Sponsored National Conference on "Prospects of Edible Plant Vaccine for Oral Immunization: Scope and Limitation".

The conference was attended by various eminent personalities, adding technical sessions by (University of Westminster, London, UK) Dr. Papiya Bigoniya and (Scientist "C" ICMR-AMSP Department of Medicine AIIMS Bhopal) Dr. Shweta Kumar. The technical session included a poster presentation competition, wherein the participants from various colleges participated, discussed various topics, and shared their ideas on recent advancements in the field of biotechnology.

The aim of conference was to know about the concept of edible vaccines which lies in converting the edible food into potential vaccines to prevent diseases. It involves introduction of selected desired genes into plants and then inducing these altered plants to manufacture the encoded proteins. Another goal is to facilitate exchange of new ideas in the field of biotechnology. The event ended up with the prize distribution to the winners of the presentation competition.
