B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
Electrical Engineering is primarily the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism for the development and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment such as navigation systems, broadcast and communication systems, keeping in mind the safety, quality, economic feasibility, and sustainability of these products and systems.
The Electrical Engineering Department at SISTec-E Ratibad Campus offers graduate and post-graduate programs: BTech and MTech. The branch of Electrical Engineering is one of the core sectors being the foundations of our economy and industrial sector. Applications of Electrical Engineering range from all diversified sectors involving automation and instrumentation.
The department’s work culture and practices focus on practical exposure along with technology, hand-on sessions on subjects like Power systems, Control systems, Network Analysis, etc are part of the usual curriculum. The department aims to enable students to work independently on engineering and design projects with the ability to rethink existing concepts and develop new ones. Control Systems, Electrical Instrumentation, Semiconductor Devices and Circuits, Network Analysis, Microprocessor, and Power Electronics are certain labs that live in action. Solar Powered Air Cooler, Solar Digital Watch, Bluetooth Based Home Automation, and Solar Refrigerators are certain to live projects made by students under faculty guidance. The department maintains a link with the industry by organizing industrial visits for practical exposure. Matatila Power Station, Crompton Greaves, United Spirits Limited, Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board (MPEB), Sagar Manufacturers Pvt. Ltd. (SMPL), Sagar Nutriments Pvt. Ltd. (SNPL), Satpura Thermal Power Station, and Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) are to name a few.
Electrical Engineering is one of the largest and most diverse technological and engineering disciplines and is rapidly growing not only within core areas such as power generation, transmission, and distribution but also finds extensive use in wireless communications and mobile technologies. Aside from being one of the major driving forces behind cutting-edge technology in areas such as power engineering, control system engineering, power electronics, and drives technologies, it has also significantly impacted several other fields such as nanotechnology and biotechnology, to name a few. Electrical Engineering students use science, engineering, technology, analytical reasoning, and creative and critical thinking skills to solve problems and design, construct and maintain electrical and electronics products.
M.Tech in Power System
This course is an introductory subject in the field of Electric Power Systems and Electrical to Mechanical energy conversion all part of the Electrical Engineering domain. Electric power has become increasingly important as a way of transmitting and transforming energy in industrial, military and transportation uses. Electric power systems are also at the heart of alternative energy systems, including wind and solar electric, geothermal and small-scale hydroelectric generation systems.
SISTec-E offers an M.Tech program in Power System at both theoretical and practical aspects. The program helps students understand the operation of microprocessors and microcontrollers which form a crucial part of the evolving power system technology. This program is designed to provide root study of various courses like Power Electronics Application to Power System, Advance Power System, Protection Relays, Power System Dynamic Analysis & Control, Power System Transient, and Power Quality & Conditioning. In addition, there are specialized courses like Power System Instrumentation, Power Controller, Special Machines, and Advanced Electrical Drives which provide extensive study in chosen areas of research work of analytical & technical competence among engineers in this sector.
