B.Tech in Computer Science & Information Technology
Computer Science & Information Technology (CS & IT) is an integrated academic program that combines core concepts of computer science with modern information technology applications. The program focuses on developing strong foundations in computing systems, software development, data management, networking, and emerging digital technologies.
The CS & IT program at SISTec emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure. It includes core subjects such as programming fundamentals, data structures, database management systems, computer networks, operating systems, and software engineering. Students are also trained in advanced IT areas such as web technologies, cloud computing, cybersecurity fundamentals, and data analytics through structured industry-oriented learning modules.
The course follows a well-planned 4x4 customized learning structure, where students engage in four theory and four practical sessions, ensuring deeper understanding and hands-on experience compared to conventional teaching patterns. Special training sessions in Python, Java, Web Development, and Mobile Application Development are conducted along with live project development under expert faculty guidance.
The department is supported by well-equipped laboratories, including the Programming Lab, DBMS Lab, Web Technologies Lab, Network Lab, Software Development Lab, and Cloud Computing Lab, enabling students to gain real-time practical exposure aligned with industry requirements.
CS & IT is one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing fields, offering excellent career opportunities across software development, IT services, networking, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, data analytics, and enterprise applications. Leading recruiters such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, and other IT companies actively participate in campus placement drives.
Graduates of CS & IT can build careers in diverse domains, including web development, mobile application development, cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, IT consulting, network administration, and system design. The program ensures students are industry-ready with strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Along with core computing subjects such as Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Database Systems, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and Software Engineering, the curriculum also integrates emerging interdisciplinary areas like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), and Cloud Computing.
The department also encourages students to participate in internships, research activities, hackathons, and interdisciplinary projects, preparing them for global technology challenges and innovation-driven careers.
